Alexandria – Alexandria, Virginia is a very large area that includes the City of Alexandria and homes which are also outside of the city located in Fairfax County. However, it’s still all called Alexandria.  Alexandria is bordered on the right by the Potomac River, to the North by Reagan Airport, Crystal City & South Arlington. To the West it’s bordered by Arlington, Annandale, Falls Church, & Springfield. To the South it’s bordered by Springfield, Lorton and Fort Belvoir. It can take nearly 40 min. to drive across Alexandria. Zips 22301,22302,22314 are the closest to downtown D.C. “The Parkway” as we call it, runs from Washington, D.C. (14th St Bridge) all the way South to Mount Vernon and Fort Belvoir. It’s a beautiful and easy drive along the river from D.C. to anywhere along “The Parkway”.  If you are on the West Side of Alexandria you will be without metro access (unless you take a bus or shuttle) and Route 395 (the moving parking lot into the city) will be your route into D.C. Cameron Station, a beautiful community, has its own metro shuttle to the Van Dorn Metro. Some condo complexes on the West side have metro shuttle service to either Van Dorn or further North, to the Pentagon Metro. No matter which area of Alexandria you choose it will be mixed with new homes, old homes, condos, townhomes, detached homes, duplexes, low rises and high rise buildings.

Arlington – Arlington has so many different neighborhoods and small city centers it’s impossible to list them all here. Like Alexandria, Arlington is a very large area that comprises beautiful tree lined neighborhoods, with busy urban centers connected to a metro station. And the East side of Arlington, like Alexandria, borders the Potomac River and there some beautiful waterfront homes, water view homes, and manicured communities, condominiums, and Craftsman homes. Crystal City is a bustling area of condos, shopping, restaurants, a metro station and lots of young people, government contractor offices, theatre and more.  Pentagon City is nearby, with its own metro station, and the Pentagon City Mall (Nordstrom’s). Ballston, Rosslyn, Clarendon are all hustling areas with metro stations, shops, bars, restaurants, mixed housing, and commercial space. Rosslyn has the best view of Downtown DC, the Monuments, and Turnberry Towers is one of the premier new condominiums for those who desire New York style living in D.C.  North Arlington is quite and residential as is West Arlington neighborhoods. Arlington is bordered by Falls Church to the West and the Potomac River to the East, McLean to the North, and Alexandria to the South. Arlington is a great place to live if you are looking for a more urban feel to life. Army Navy Country club is one of the gems of Arlington as are the many parks nestled within the neighborhoods. McLean – McLean has a lovely downtown shopping area that has great stores and restaurants. Most of McLean is residential on the East side. The West Side is connected to Tyson’s Corner and is a busy commercial area mixed with Shopping, Office Buildings, Condos, and residential areas.  Like Alexandria and Arlington, McLean on the East is bordered by the Potomac River. Great Falls (horse country and large estate homes) is to the North and Tyson’s Corner is to the West. South is Arlington and Alexandria; both within 10 min. or so of McLean. There are some lovely estate homes in McLean, embassay size complexes, River front homes that will take your breath away, condominiums, and a great school system. There are even a few small equestrian estates in McLean, several old historic homes, acerage, private estates, and in-town more urban residences. McLean is an upscale address where many foreign dignitaries, diplomats, royalty, and other wealthy important people call home. However, it’s also mixed with older homes, young professionals, accomplished professionals, empty nesters, and children. For demographic information about McLean
